Regenerative Tissue Therapy (RTT) is an advanced therapeutic approach that harnesses the body's natural regenerative capabilities to promote healing and tissue repair. At My Vitality, we are proud to offer RTT as part of our comprehensive approach to helping patients achieve their highest level of health.
Unlike other therapies, RTT utilizes specialized regenerative materials, to target and heal issues throughout the entire body. Our qualified and experienced osteopathic physician, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, who is also a functional medicine doctor, provides RTT to our patients.
What's the key difference between osteopathic physicians (D.O.s) and medical doctors (M.D.s)?
The incorporation of hands-on therapy known as osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) in D.O. training. D.O.s, like Dr. Jeffrey Brown, are uniquely trained and licensed to offer RTT as part of their comprehensive care.
What are some of the benefits of RTT?
RTT offers a range of benefits by focusing on the relationship between the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the rest of the body. It aims to restore functionality, remove barriers to motion, and facilitate the healing process.
We offer RTT to address various conditions, such as:
• Musculoskeletal pain (such as neck, back, or joint pain)
• Sports injuries or other types of overuse injuries
• Hair-loss
• Chronic pain conditions
By incorporating RTT into our treatment approach, we aim to provide effective relief and support to our patients, helping them achieve optimal health and well-being.
Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) is a therapeutic modality that incorporates many different manual therapy techniques. Its goal is to improve both structural and functional issues in the bones, joints, muscles and other tissues of the body. At My Vitality we offer OMT as part of our comprehensive approach to helping our patients achieve their highest level of health.
OMT vs. Chiropractic
Chiropractic care typically involves high-velocity techniques aimed at restoring alignment to the spine. OMT, on the other hand, uses various manual therapies to help heal issues throughout the entire body. In addition, only osteopathic physicians (D.O.s) are trained and licensed to perform OMT. Dr. Jeffrey Brown is a D.O. and functional medicine doctor, and he offers this therapy to our patients.
What’s the Difference Between a D.O and M.D.?
D.O.s and M.D.s are virtually the same, as they attend similar residencies, prescribe medications, and practice in all 50 states. The main difference is that D.O.s are required to learn hands-on therapy called osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) during medical school. They are the only type of provider who can offer this particular therapy.
Benefits of OMT
This hands-on therapy focuses on the relationship between the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the rest of the body to restore functionality or remove barriers to motion and healing.
We offer this therapy to help with various conditions, such as:
• Musculoskeletal pain, including neck, back, or joint pain
• Sports injuries or other types of overuse injuries
• Pregnancy-related issues, including back pain, sciatic pain, shortness of breath or sinus congestion
• Chronic pain conditions such as those caused by fibromyalgia, menstrual pain or migraines
OMT is safe, natural and effective, with no side effects. It helps restore balance to the body and may improve blood, lymph and nerve circulation, which are needed to heal, prevent disease, and achieve optimal health.
As we age, testosterone, estrogen and progesterone levels decline. Lower levels of testosterone and estrogen have been associated with nerve, joint, and muscle pain in both men and women. At My Vitality, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, D.O. takes the time to find out where your hormone levels are, to create the proper hormonal balance and help you feel like yourself again.
Our Approach
We strive to optimize and restore hormonal balance in your body, which starts with an in-depth analysis. We check hormone levels through serum blood, urine, or finger stick. In addition, we check that your body is metabolizing your hormones in a healthy and safe manner.
Many people, including many medical doctors, use hormonal creams or injections to treat a symptom, such as hot flashes. However, without creating hormonal balance, you will continue to feel “off.” As a functional medicine doctor, Dr. Brown offers a comprehensive approach to hormone replacement therapy that seeks to achieve hormonal balance through diet, exercise, and appropriate hormone replacement.
Symptoms of Decreased Testosterone and Estrogen
As our sex hormones decrease with age, the risk of arthritis increases. That’s because inflammation increases when testosterone and estrogen decrease. These hormones, along with progesterone, are also important for maintaining healthy, strong bones to prevent osteoporosis.
Lower levels of these sex hormones are also associated with depression, anxiety, lack of motivation, and weight gain.
In addition to reducing pain and inflammation, balancing and optimizing your hormone levels through HRT may provide the following benefits:
• Better mental clarity
• Energy Enhancement
• Improved strength and stamina
• Improved memory
• Increased sense of well-being
• Decreased anxiety and depression
• Improved sex drive, performance, and enjoyment
• Decreased hot flashes
• Improvement in PCOS
• Regular periods
Telehealth Option
After your initial examination and testing, we offer telehealth appointments to save you the trouble of coming into the office for checkups.
Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy is a way to deliver vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients directly into the body’s circulation. At My Vitality, our osteopathic physician and functional medicine doctor, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, offers IV nutrient therapy to our patients who want to maximize their health.
What Are Some Benefits?
Nutrients are essential to improve collagen production, which is the main component in bones, ligaments, tendons, and discs. As you age, your body produces less collagen. Since tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue are not “essential” for survival, your body directs blood, oxygen, and nutrients to organs vital for survival, leading to degeneration of bones, ligaments, tendons, and discs. Intravenous nutrients can help restore your body’s collagen production, countering the degenerative process and relieving your pain.
Intravenous vs. Oral Supplementation
Using the IV route of administration allows the maximum concentration of nutrients to reach tissues that need it the most. Since it bypasses the digestive system, it allows the therapeutic dose to be used, which is impossible to achieve through oral routes for the treatment of disease. It’s also ideal for patients with digestive issues or who don’t absorb nutrients properly.
Identifying What You Need
We do thorough lab work and testing to determine which nutrients you need, and how much of them. Minerals and vitamins are the foundations of this therapy, and other supplements may be added to support your specific needs.
Some conditions that may benefit from IV nutrient therapy include:
• Adrenal fatigue
• Allergies
• Diabetes
• Fatigue
• Fibromyalgia
• Liver disease
• Macular degeneration
• Migraine headaches
• Neurological disorders
• Poor memory or concentration
• Stress
• Upper respiratory infections
Customized Care
Your IV nutrients are chosen based on your personal needs. Each session lasts about one hour, and the frequency of therapy can be anywhere from once or twice a week to once a month, depending on the condition we are addressing.
